ABSTRACT

The outbreak of Covid-19 in Malaysia was first detected on 23 January 2020 and the Malaysian Government has implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO) to curb the spread of the pandemic. During the MCO implementation period, almost all sectors were not allowed to operate fully which include the education sector. All schools and Higher Learning Institutions have to be closed and there is totally no physical contact. In this situation, PTAR as academic library in Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia, has to take a proactive action to make sure the library services will be carried out to support teaching and learning. This situation is a challenge not only to library management but also to all library users. The public is aware that the library is a storehouse of knowledge that is a place to get all information and references in any field. The physical closure of service operations has resulted in various services not being able to be used optimally by users. For example, book loans and returns, face-to-face counselling, referrals and information literacy programs are not possible. Therefore, one of the initiatives undertaken by PTAR is to support teaching and learning by the use of Digital Libraries. Through various strategies implemented, it can be proven through the increased use of various digital library services such My Knowledge Management Portal, Online Database, Mobile Library Apps and many more. It is hoped that, UiTM Library can stay connected with and meet the needs of their library users, especially with the services in the new norms and Open and Distance Learning (ODL)
